4 months old

      

Little Laila is now four months old. Although it has only been four months it seems like she has been in our family forever and we can't image our family without her. Her brothers and sister always fight over who gets to sit next to her in the car. When Laila wakes up from her nap they run to the bedroom to greet her. Ava is especially cute with her, although she still refers to Laila as "him", she'll say "I kissed him!." Maybe one of these days she'll realize Laila is a her not a him.

Poor Laila is sick again with a cough and cold. This is the third time she has been sick since she was born four months ago. I can't wait until cold and flu season is over!

trampoline

On Saturday we bought the kids a trampoline. The boys we been asking for one for a while and thanks to our tax return we had some extra money to get one. The kids have been having lots of fun playing on it and it's been a good way to get them outside!

three months

a visit from the tooth fairy

Dario lost his first baby tooth yesterday, with help from daddy who pulled it, because a new tooth was already growing in behind the old one. Dario was excited to put his tooth under his pillow so he could get money from the tooth fairy. He asked me if the tooth fairy liked his tooth would she bring him lots of money.

feeling better

After a miserable week, Laila is finally feeling better. This was the first time any of my babies have had RSV and I hope it's the last. The whole week she had a horrible cough, had trouble breathing and ran a fever. The other three kids were also sick with the same symptoms. Dario also had a stomach virus and missed two days of school. I felt like I was running a hospital last week! Luckily, the only thing Brian and I caught was a runny nose.

On Sunday Laila was blessed at church. We had lots of family come from both sides of our family. After church we had a big dinner with everyone. Thank you to everyone who participated in Laila's special day!

RSV

On Sunday Laila had a little cough, during the night it got worse and she developed a fever. The next day we took her to the doctor and found out she has RSV. She has to do breathing treatments through out the day for about a week. Luckily she just sits there and lets us hold the mask over her nose. Sometimes it's no fun being the fourth child! You get to catch all the diseases that your older siblings bring home when they kiss and slobber all over you.

Yesterday was another beautiful, sunny day. We took full advantage of the nice weather and had a picnic outside and played hopscotch. Unfortunately, today it is gray and rainy and soon to be cold.

9 weeks

I used to have to try really hard to get a smile out of Laila, but just within the past couple of weeks she has been giving us lots of smiles. There is nothing better than when a baby smiles at you!

two months old

Yesterday Laila had her 2 month checkup. She now weighs 12 lbs 10 ozs and is 24 inches long.

our christmas

This past Christmas we got to spend lots of time with both sides of our family. Christmas Eve and Christmas morning we went to Brian's parents house. Then, Christmas afternoon we went to my parent's house. We got to meet our new little nephew Colby, who is a month younger than Laila. The kids got spend lots of time playing with their cousins and going to the park, since the weather was so warm. This was also the last Christmas with the sweet family dog KoKo. She is very sick and is dying. It was very sad to see her in the condition she was in. When we got back from my parents house Dario started crying, we asked him what was wrong and he asked us if he got sick would he die like KoKo. So sad, we will miss you KoKo!

happy birthday dario

Today Dario turned 6! He is growing up way to fast! To celebrate we went to Chucky Cheese, he has been going there every year for his birthday since he was two, I guess it's a birthday traditon now. Afterward we went to Brian's parents house for cake and to open presents. Happy birthday Dario, we love you!

seven weeks old

Laila turned seven weeks old this week. Yesterday was a rough one. Laila slept all day, I would try to wake her up and she would go right back to sleep. That night she was awake ALL night until five in the morning, whining the whole time. All I want for Christmas is a good nights sleep!

winter wonderland

It was a little too cold for Aiden!

Late last night it started snowing! It rarely snows here, so everyone was very excited. Dario's school started two hours late, so the boys went out and played in the snow as soon as they woke up. They had fun making and throwing snowballs. We didn't have any gloves for them to wear so they wore some of Brian's socks over their hands. The snow was beautiful while it lasted!

six weeks old

I can't believe Laila is already six weeks old. She has now discovered that it is more fun to be held than to set in her swing. Needless to say, I haven't been able to get anything done and my house is a mess. That's okay, holding a baby is more fun than doing dishes anyway!

christmas tree

This year we decided to get a live Christmas tree. We are lucky to live about 30 minutes from several Christmas tree farms. On Saturday we took a scenic drive out to one of the farms. There were rows and rows of beautiful trees to choose from. Aiden went crazy running down the rows of trees. Unfortunately we got there right as the sun was going down so I wasn't able to take that many pictures. Next year we will have to go earlier! The boys helped choose our tree and the farmer cut it for us. I'll post pictures when it is all decorated.
