thirteen!

We now have two teenagers in the house! Aiden turned thirteen on June the 13th. His birthday was while he was away at scout camp.  Which was a bummer, but he had lots of fun at the camp which was up in the Ozark mountains.  Aiden said it actually got cold at night.  When he returned from camp, Brian put together a party with some of his friends and they played Nerf gun wars with black lights.  Of course when I took his picture, in typical Aiden style he had to do some silly poses!

eight months old

Evelyn is growing up so fast.  She has  become really mobile lately, crawling everywhere she isn't supposed to, walking along the couch while holding on to it. I have to be sure people don't leave their shoes lying around or she will find them and chew on them, yuck!  I also have to make sure nothing little is lying around or she will try and stick it in her mouth.  She is just a little ball of energy and loves getting into everything.

eight grade banquet

Recently Dario went to the eight grade banquet.  All the kids get dressed up all fancy and have a dinner with an awards ceremony.  Brian got Dario a tuxedo to wear, which I though was a little ridiculous because it's eight grade!  However,  Dario was so excited to wear it, that I guess it was worth it.  After the banquet, Dario and a big group of kids from church had a get together at one of their houses.  He had lots of fun. I can't believe Dario will be in high school next year!

5 months

Evelyn is five months old.  She is such a happy baby and really curious.  Evelyn still drools a lot, but still hasn't cut any teeth.  Recently, she has started pulling herself forward when she is on her stomach and she can turn around in a circle.  I have seen her get up on her hands and knees.  I think she is really close to crawling.  I bought Evelyn a little activity center, but she doesn't like sitting in it and prefers tummy time. She has also started eating baby food, although it's been a slow start and she doesn't know what to think of it yet.   Five months is such a fun age!

These cousins had lots of fun playing at the park together!  This winter has been so mild and it feels like Spring is here already.

5 year anniversary

January 28th was a very special day, five years ago, Dahlia received her heart transplant.  Her donor heart is still very healthy and we are so grateful that she has reached this huge milestone.  I realize that we are very lucky that Dahlia's heart is doing so well, although we are still struggling with her gaining weight and she still has a feeding tube. Back in November, she had to spend two weeks in the hospital due to her weight, which has been effected by the lingering Norovirus.   This was huge reminder of how fragile she is.  After Laila's baptism on Saturday we celebrated Dahlia's five year anniversary and remembered  her angel donor.  Hopefully the upcoming year brings good health and no hospital stays!
