After a long process Dahlia finally had her wish granted! We started the application process back in 2019! Right after the pandemic hit, she was approved for Make A Wish, but unfortunately at the time, the option for a Disney World trip was not available, because of the raging pandemic. However, we were told we could put Dahlia’s wish on hold and wait to see when the Disney trips would be available again. We are glad Dahlia decided to wait, because it was the trip of a lifetime and was such an amazing experience! Make A Wish paid for everything down to souvenirs and food at the parks! We flew from Houston to Orlando, and all of the kids were so excited for their first time on a plane. Luckily we didn’t have any delays or cancelled flights. We stayed at the Make A Wish resort, Give the Kids the World Village. The resort was just as magical as Disney World. It is largely run in part by volunteers, who were so kind and friendly. We loved the all you can eat cafeteria and ice cream parlor. When we would come home exhausted at night from Disney World, the resort delivered pizza, drinks, cookies and brownies to us, it was so nice! Each day there would be a bag of treats waiting on the front door for the kids. It was such a special place. The first day after our arrival we went to Magic Kingdom and had a blast. We were able to complete the whole park in one day, thanks to having fast passes for every single ride, which was so awesome and totally spoiled us! Some of Dahlia’s favorite rides were The Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, and the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. Luckily Evelyn was tall enough to ride all of the rides. Although she and Dahlia refused to ride Space Mountain. Dahlia and Evelyn loved getting to meet some of the princesses. We made so many priceless memories!
