san antonio part 1

During spring break we went on vacation to San Antonio. My sister and her family were also able to join us and we had lots of fun. The first day we were there we went to the River Walk and the Alamo. We went to the Alamo a couple of years ago and it was extremely crowded. This time it was crowded, but not near as bad as before and unlike last time we were able to go into the main building. It was nice to walk the beautiful grounds and see the historical buildings in the mission.
It really is a sacred place where men sacrificed their lives for freedom, and as a native Texan it has a special place in my heart.

The next day we headed off to Sea World; the kids were especially excited about this part of the trip. After waiting in line for an hour to purchase tickets with our coupons we were finally able to go inside. We were lucky and had perfect weather. There was a whole lot of walking involved, luckily we had two strollers. At one point we were even pushing Dario around in the stroller. There was a lot to squeeze into one day, but I think we were able to see all the main attractions. The kids loved the penguin exhibit, the dolphin cove and the shark aquarium. We were able to squeeze in a couple of rides and see lots of shows. We loved the show with Shamu. During the show Brian and the boys sat on the first row and by the end of the show they were completely soaked from the whale's splashing.
