6 years old!

My baby is now 6 years old, she is growing up way to fast! Evelyn loved wearing her birthday crown from her kindergarten teacher. For Evelyn’s birthday she wanted to go to Chuck E Cheese, and had lots of fun.  At six, Evelyn is funny, mischievous, loves drawing, and playing with her best friend Dahlia.

Drama Queen!

This year Laila has loved her drama class she is taking and being in the drama club. She has done really well in the competitions she has entered. So proud of her!

First tooth fairy visit!

This little rascal lost her first tooth! Evelyn was a bit freaked out when it fell out and tearfully asked me if  “she still looked cute?” Haha!

10 year transplant anniversary

Today marks the big milestone of ten years since Dahlia’s heart transplant! So very thankful for her donor and for her gift of life. Dahlia had her annual biopsy a couple of weeks ago, and her heart looked healthy with zero rejection!

Scarecrow festival

We spent a beautiful autumn day at a local botanical garden. During the month of October they have scarecrows made by people in the community on display. It was the perfect way to spend a beautiful Saturday!

Ten!

We celebrated Dahlia’s 10th birthday today! Hard to believe she now double digits. She had to do homeschool once again this year, because of the Delta variant.  Can’t wait for the vaccine to be approved for children, so she can go back to school!  Although, Dahlia doesn’t seem to mind homeschool too much, and Evelyn loves having her home.

Five!

How is my little baby already five years old!  Evelyn is the sweetest, funniest, little girl. At five, she loves  babies, getting into makeup, helping fold laundry, and copying her older sisters.  Even though there is a five year difference between her and Dahlia, they are best friends and play together so well.  We are so glad she is part of our family, we don’t know what we’d do without our “little sweet.”

florida!

This year we went to Navarre Beach, Florida for our summer vacation. I booked this trip back in the spring, when COVID had died down, before the Delta variant started spreading like wildfire. Little did I know, come summer time, Florida would become a Covid hotspot! Luckily, everyone 12 and up in our family was vaccinated and had already had the virus. We rented a condo right on the beach, that was a quick walk to the water. Unfortunately, there was a ton of sea algae and seaweed in the water, most of the time we were there, and the water wasn’t that clear, but the kids still had fun! A tropical storm also hit a couple of hours away from where we were, and the waves were really rough and huge for a day. We played card games each night, and walked on the beach. This particular beach had lots of pretty shells that we had fun collecting.
