10 months

Laila is 10 months old! She can now pull herself up, fit into 18 month clothes, clap her hands, and point at pictures in books.

first day of school

Aiden started Kindergarten this year. He did great his first day. When we dropped him off he didn't act scared or nervous at all, Aiden found his table and happily began coloring. I think I was more nervous and anxious than he was.

Dario was a bit more nervous and while we walked him to his class, he pouted the whole way. But, when he got home he said he had a good first day. He also has several friend in his class from last year, which I'm sure helped. I also had a great first day of school. It was peaceful and quite with just my sweet girls at home, and I actually got to take a nap. I did miss my boys though and was happy when they came home.

On Saturday we went to our niece Elayna's 9th birthday party. It was a fun filled party with lots of good food, lots of playing outside, a pinata and a sleep over.

the end of summer

Here's a couple of pictures from this past weekend. This summer has flown by, there's less than two weeks before school starts. Of course, we haven't bought any school supplies or clothes yet. Aiden starts Kindergarten this year. With boys at school all day long, I'm looking forward to some peace and quite!

potty trained

I am happy to say that Ava is finally potty trained! I will be saving lots of money buying diapers for one child instead of two. Now I just need to break her addiction to bottles. At first it was cute, now it's just embarrassing that my almost three year old still drinks bottles. Wish me luck!

9 months old

It seems like just the other day I was taking Laila's eight month pictures, now she is already nine months old! She is scooting around everywhere, although she still can't crawl yet. She will follow the kids when they go into their rooms and will get into their toys and books. I love wood floors except when it comes to scooting or crawling babies. Every little crumb or speck of dust on the floor ends up on her clothes and hands, she is like a little Swifter sweeper. Laila also loves to eat, when she sees the kids eating a snack she will scoot up to them and beg for some. She does well at chewing little finger foods and now has her two top teeth coming in. I am going to try and really enjoy these last few months before her first birthday, because they go so fast!

Aiden lost his first tooth! He actually lost it several weeks ago, but I have just now gotten around to taking pictures.

cousins visit!

This past weekend was lots of fun. Lauren, Dan and their kids came for a visit. The kids stayed up past midnight and woke up before 7. I don't know how they had so much energy with so little sleep! On Saturday we went to the art museum and the kids got to make crafts and paint. After the museum we ate at a Mexican restaurant nearby. The rest of the day was spent swimming and playing outside. While swimming Aiden just about knocked out his top tooth while wrestling with Dario. Good thing it was a baby tooth because it will be falling out soon. Aside from the tooth incident it was a good weekend!

eight months

Laila is now eight months old. She is still figuring out how to crawl. Right now she is content with just scooting, or sitting up and playing with her toys. She has been such a good, happy baby. It seems like she is always smiling or laughing. She also loves to babble.

fourth of july weekend

We spent fourth of July weekend at my parents house. On Friday we took all of the kids, including the babies, to the movies. At first the babies were fascinated by the movie. However, that didn't last long, eventually both Laila and Evan fell asleep. After the movie I got to see Jessica and Walter's new place, she has it decorated so cute! On the fourth we ate lots of good food, and went swimming. Later on that night we went to the H.E.B. parking lot to watch fireworks. The view from there was pretty good and just about the whole parking lot was full of people with lawn chairs, or people sitting in back of their trucks watching the fireworks. The kids had fun setting in the back of Grandpa and Uncle Carl's trucks while watching fireworks and eating candy.

ochoa family vacation

We were able to spend a nice vacation with Brian's family recently. We stayed at a lake house on Toledo Bend, which is big lake between Texas and Louisianna. We had fun staying up late playing games, swimming at the lake, going on a hike, and fishing. On our hike we went on a trail that looked like no one had hiked it in years. The trail was over grown and there were fallen trees everywhere over the trail. We had to climb over and under them all while carrying a baby. It was pretty crazy and we eventually turned around because we couldn't find the trail anymore and didn't want to get lost in the woods. One of the days we were at the lake a storm came rolling in from off the lake. The wind picked up and started blowing really hard and there were big waves. The cool breeze was a nice break.
