7 months old

Last week Laila turned seven months old. She can now sit up on her own for short periods of time. She has also learned to scoot around. I'll lay her down on the rug and before I know it, she has scooted off onto the wood floor. Before I know it she'll be crawling and getting into everything!

dario's kindergarten graduation

Today was Dario's last day of school and his Kindergarten graduation. The school year flew by so fast! The school held a nice graduation ceremony for the kids. First, all of the kids marched in with their teachers, then they sang a cute song. Next, they each walked up to the front to receive their diploma, and then sang another song. We are so proud of Dario, he is getting to be such a big boy.

memorial day weekend

Memorial Day weekend we did lots of traveling and saw lots of family. First we were able to attend my brother Mark's graduation form dental school in San Antonio. That night mom and dad treated everyone to dinner at a delicious Mexican restaurant. The kids got to spend the night in a hotel for the first time. Boy were they loud, at one point our room was filled with 7 kids. Luckily, no one complained about the noise! On our way out of San Antonio we decided to stop by the Alamo. I think everyone else in town had the same idea because it was so crowded! The line to the main mission was a mile long. We tried to go into one of the other buildings but after being caught in a traffic jam, we just decided to walk around the grounds and take pictures.
After San Antonio, we took off to Austin to see some of Brian's family. On the way to Austin we ate at the best German restaurant in New Braunsfels, the food was so good and the restaurant was very authentic looking. While we were in Austin we stayed at Brian's cousin's Tonya's house. They have a beautiful house out in the country and were very nice to let us stay there for a couple or days. While we were there we had dinner with all of Brian's extended family who live in the area, went swimming in a lake and ate at another delicious Mexican restaurant. It was a fun time!

Ava and her second cousin Shaylee. Ava had lots of fun playing with her.

aiden's last game

Aiden had his final soccer game of the season last Saturday. They played the team that they played their first game against. This time Aiden's team won! Aiden is so proud of the trophy that he got and carries it around everywhere.

mother's day weekend

On mother's day we got to attend our sweet little nephew Evan's baby blessing. After church we went to Lauren and Dan's for a delicious dinner. It was nice to spend mother's day with my sisters and my mom.

field trip

Last week Dario went on his first field trip. The whole kindergarten went to the park. Families were invited to go also, so Brian took off half the day and we all went. Dario is still young enough that he is not embarrassed to have his family show up at school functions. When he was on the playground he spotted our big van pulling up and he got real excited and started waving at us. The kids had lots of fun running around and playing with Dario and his friends. After it was over Dario's road home with us. Before we left we let the kids cool off at a little water park that was next to the playground.

graduation

Dario brought home his Kindergarten graduation pictures a couple of days ago. Looks like he is graduating from Law School or something. Brian and I were joking that we should send out graduation announcements and see if anyone sends him cards or money!

this weekend

Aiden had another soccer game. During the game he must have thought he was playing football instead of soccer, because just as a member of the opposite team was about to make a goal, Aiden grabbed him by the shirt and pulled him back. After the game we took the kids to the art museum for a family arts day, where they made crepe paper flowers, painted cookies and made other crafts. Aiden also caught a snake (nonvenomous of course!) It was a busy, fun weekend.

6 months

Laila is now six months old. The past six months has gone by so fast! She'll be a year old before I know it. Yesterday she had her checkup and she now weighs 17 pounds and is in the 90th percentile for her height. She is still learning how to sit up on her own.

ava loves the trampoline

Ava used to be hesitant to jump on the trampoline, or want someone to hold her hand while
she jumped. Now we can't get her off; today she woke up from her nap crying that she wanted to jump on the trampoline. She'll even jump on it when her brothers are jumping, which is very brave!

first tooth

Laila has cut her first tooth! She also has one coming up right next to it. I tried to take a picture of her tooth but it is so tiny I couldn't get a good shot of it.

easter

I'm finally posting about Easter. We went to my parents house for Easter weekend. For our traditional Easter egg hunt Brian thought it would be funny to put raisins in some of the eggs. Poor Dario ended up getting tons of those eggs. Mom made all the yummy food that she makes each Easter. It was a fun Easter!

When we went to my parents house on Easter weekend we took these pictures at a Bluebonnet field near their house.

It's been one year,

Since I started my blog. I love blogging, it is such a fun, visual way to keep a journal that will be around forever. It is also a great way to keep in touch with family and friends. All the wonderful and creative blogs I read have replaced the many magazine subscriptions I use to have, and not to mention they are free! Thank you to whoever invented the blog!

look how much Ava has grown in one year!

park fun

Dario got out of school early for Easter weekend and we went to the park. We were just about the only ones there, so there was no waiting in line for swings or slides!

first soccer game

Aiden had his first soccer game today. The little four year olds on Aiden's team were so cute attempting to kick the ball. The other team had some really good players and Aiden's team didn't win this time. The score was 6 to 1, and the one point was scored by a member of the opposite team who kicked the ball into the wrong goal. It was perfect weather and we had lots of fun cheering Aiden on.

five months old

Laila is now five months old. She loves to splash when she takes a bath, watch her brothers and sister play with wide eyes, grab at everything and eat apple sauce and mashed bananas. Momma wishes she wouldn't grow up quite so fast!
